Graduation

We were honored to celebrate the graduation of two of our girls and we couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishments! Nakkiah (Nikki) and Nevaeh successfully made it through the Teen Challenge course-transforming their mindset, emotions and outlook on life.

They came angry, hurt and unwilling to let anyone in to protect themselves. It took awhile to learn to trust again, but slowly and surely through relationships with the loving staff at BGA the girls learned to let go of control and surrender. Nikki was able to go visit extended family on the east coast and will soon settle into life again with her own family-but this time she has the tools to cope with life in healthier ways and God has opened her heart to trusting His plan for her life.

Here at BGA we were on the frontlines of seeing a complete 180 transformation in Nevaeh since coming to our facility. When she first arrived she had so much strife and anger towards her parents, it seemed almost impossible to bridge the divide between them. But God softened Nevaeh’s heart and she learned to forgive and love again and now the relationship between them is restored and stronger than ever-glory be to God!

We are blessed to have Nevaeh stay on a little longer for our 6 month “Next Steps” program where she will continue to live at the house and help mentor and encourage other girls as they grow in their journey. Her example of overcoming adversity and sticking things out will be a tremendous witness to her peers and we can’t wait to see how God uses her!

We are so proud of these ladies and the hard work they put in to changing their lives for the better. We will miss them greatly but look forward to see how God works in your lives on the outside. “By perseverance the snail reached the ark!” Congratulations Nikki and Nevaeh-we couldn’t be happier for you!

Thrift Store Pop-up

It’s shopping time!! The girls were blessed by the creativity and generosity of one of our staff members, as she was inspired to create a unique shopping experience for the girls, complete with a flower making station and coffee stand!

We were blessed to be sponsored by some local businesses who were generous enough to donate all the materials and clothing so the girls could pick out their own outfits and accessories. Her friends created a welcoming and delightful environment displaying all the clothing and accessories for ease of browsing.

It was a beautiful display of love and the girls loved every minute of being spoiled, not to mention they walked away with some great finds! Thank you to our generous donors at Plato’s Closet, The Find Thrift Store, and Sattagrace for making this happen!

Adventures & Outings

As the days grew lighter and longer the girls were able to experience two outside adventures last month. The first was an exciting and comical scavenger hunt where girls broke into teams and scurried around Nampa looking for items on a list. This forced them to knock on doors, talk to people and get outside their comfort zones, all while laughing and racing and trying to win! In the end it was great camaraderie for our team and staff and we now know a little more about our special city!

The second outing was a thrilling surprise to see the Christian artist Bodie in concert!  Local Christian radio station KTSY is hosting their “Summer of Hope Concert Series” so the girls were able to enjoy some awesome music and worship outside in God’s glorious creation! What a fun and creative way to experience God’s presence and draw closer to Him. We are so thankful to live in such a wonderful community of believers where things like this are possible.

Coming Up

We have a huge fundraiser opportunity coming up August 15th for our region. Don’t miss the opportunity to grab a team of four and make memories on this stunning course! This event will help Put Hope Within Reach by raising funds for the mens, womens and of course-Boise Girls Academy-campuses throughout our region. Coming Up

We’re also gearing up for Spiritual Emphasis Retreat coming in September! This is an incredible time where all 19 campuses in our PacWest region gather to worship our Creator, hear inspiring student testimonies, learn from some amazing speakers and have a little fun!

We love being able to take all of our girls and staff to this event as it is one of the highlights of the year! We need volunteers to help in the kitchen in order to make this happen.

Would you prayerfully consider volunteering with us at camp, or making a donation so that we can cover the cost of travel, food and lodging for the girls? Thank you in advance for your prayers and support. We couldn’t do this without the help from our amazing donors like you!
