Chefin' it up!
One of the new skills the girls learn when they come to BGA is kitchen help! Once a student has been in the program for a reasonable amount of time, they are able to be on “kitchen help”. With staff guidance the students learn how to cook for the whole campus, how to work together with others, take instruction, and how to clean up. This may seem small, but you would be surprised how many of our students have never used a can opener before, let alone cooked anything! It is a teaching moment that requires a lot of patience, but is so fun! Some of the girls love it, and see it as their way of serving BGA; some do not love it, but they learn how to do it well even when they don’t want to. That is definitely a skill worth learning!

New Students
We are continuing to pray for God to bring us more students, and He is faithful! We had several intakes last month and are prayerfully looking forward to more in the coming month. Every student is an opportunity for change and for their life to look different. Every student is an opportunity for their hearts to be surrendered to Jesus and family restoration to begin. It is often nerve wracking for new students to come into a place that is unfamiliar and it is hard for parents to make the decision to bring their daughter to BGA. So please continue to pray for our new students and families to settle in, find peace, and to look to Christ alone for their strength. |
