After being released from Benton County Jail, I was back on the streets. I tried hard to stay clean off meth, but inevitably fell to the power it had over me and my life. For five days, I walked around muttering to the voices in my head in a drug induced psychosis. My feet had such bad blisters that I could barely walk, so I sat down at a picnic table at Lawrence Scott Park to rest.
After a few minutes, a man walks over to throw away his to-go coffee cup in a trash can nearby. Even though I was in pain because of my feet, I still greeted him saying, "Good morning." That began a conversation in which I disclosed that I have been homeless and addicted to meth for the past four years.
That man was David McCullough, who used to work for Adult & Teen Challenge. I believe God sent him and I to that park that day to meet. Ever since that day, God has been making drastic changes in my life! |
