Updates

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."

- Ezekiel 36:26

All month long we have been focusing on how God removes our hard heart as we ask for forgiveness for all the sins we hide inside, being afraid that God will not love us if He sees them.

The Good News is that He knows all about them, loves us in spite of them and has given us a plan for removing them: Confession. He promises to take them away, "as far as the East is from the West." (Psalm 103:12).

What freedom our students are finding as they yield more and more parts of their heart to their loving Father as they grow in His Word!

A Door of Hope

We have been receiving many letters from former students who are now in state or federal prisons. Having a new life in Christ doesn't often mean that there are no consequences for the serious crimes they have committed. Monthly, we send them and their new friends copies of "A Door of Hope".

During the summer months, we bring out some vintage issues that have been favorites. We received quite a few letters recently thanking us for sending these lessons. Women want Jesus to change their hearts and our newsletters are filled with God's evidence based ways of recovery.

One woman wrote:

"I want to thank you for always being a blessing in my life! I believe that I first met Teen Challenge in the Pasco jail back in 2009. You would sing and bring your music and pray for us. Over the years, you women have truly brought me comfort and a desire to change while I was living in "God's Hotel". You each have been the mother and grandmother I never had. You wouldn't believe how much I have changed. Now, when I receive it, the Door of Hope puts a smile on my face and lets me know that you all still care about me."

Summer into Fall

It has been hot this past month, but when we ventured out of the air conditioned jails, we had continual, unexpected "God appointments" with our team seeing at least one or more women every day. Just this week, a woman who has been clean and sober and walking in His love for several years now, was at the courthouse in order to be there for a relative's trial. Many transformed women have such a positive effect on their relatives and friends as they are living examples of God's power.

Please continue to pray for us as we Put Hope Within Reach in person, through the mail and on the streets. As you know, postage has gone up in price, but it is the very best way to send the message of God's transformation into other jails and prisons away from the Tri-Cities.

Please continue to help us financially by mail or online below on our website. Every dollar makes such a difference in providing resources for women, since all of us are able to volunteer our time. Remember too, that we can always use bags of healthy snacks for our fall outreaches so we can share Jesus along with a little something to eat.

God bless you as you help us Be Hope to so many!
