August 2025 Newsletter

Aloha ‘Ohana!

From Our Home to Yours

Aloha,

We hope this newsletter finds you well and you're filled with the same hope and joy we’re experiencing at the Men’s Home this month! July has been an incredible time of ministry, brotherhood, and transformation, and we’re excited to share some highlights with you.

Sharing Our Stories Across the ‘Aina

We were blessed with the opportunity to share our testimonies at a few churches this month, allowing us to speak of God's grace and the transformation happening in the lives of our students. One unforgettable visit was the opportunity to share at Hau’oli Kamana’o Church in Miloli‘i, the last Hawaiian fishing village, a beautiful and historic place to proclaim freedom in Christ. We also visited Na‘alehu Assembly of God, where we connected with a loving congregation and shared how God is rebuilding lives through the Adult and Teen Challenge program.

New Life Through Baptism

This month, we celebrated a major milestone with two of our students, Waylen and Nick, making the decision to publicly declare their faith through water baptism during a family fun day at the park! It was a powerful day of celebration, food, fellowship, and witnessing God's work in these men's lives.

Reaching the Lost and Hungry

Outreach continues to be at the heart of our mission. We had several opportunities to feed the hungry this month, allowing us to share about the Men’s Home, and most importantly, speak of the freedom available through Jesus Christ! These moments remind us of where we came from, and of the purpose God has placed on our lives now.

Brotherhood in Action

One of the more unique and fun highlights this month was a community event we took part in allowing our men to participate in a Truck Pull Challenge. It was more than just a physical test, it was a powerful symbol of teamwork, strength, and unity. Watching the men come together, encouraging each other, and pulling in the same direction reminded us of what brotherhood looks like in action, and how important it is that we work as one Hui.

Our Home is Growing

We’re excited to share that our home is growing! More men are walking through our doors, hungry for change, ready to heal, and seeking the love of Christ. With every new student, our mission deepens, and so does our need for prayer, resources, and community. With that being said please  Save the Date: November 16th for our 2025 Night of HOPE Gala!

This will be a special evening of testimonies, celebration, and partnership-we would be honored to have you there with us!

Mahalo Nui!

None of these moments would be possible without your faithful prayers, generosity, and belief in what God is doing here in our Puna Mens home. Your partnership helps provide a place where men can heal, grow, and discover their God-given identity.

Mahalo for standing beside us, alongside us, and with us! We’re excited for what’s ahead, and we’re grateful to walk this journey together with you.

With Gratitude and Aloha,
Kuhio Thomas, Campus Director
