Aloha ‘Ohana!

Aloha Friends and Ministry Partners,

This last month has been filled with continued transformation, service and spiritual growth. From sharing testimonies at local churches to hands-on community projects, our students are not only pursuing recovery—they're walking boldly in their faith.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)

We pray this update encourages your heart as much as your support continues to encourage ours!

Testimonies, Service & Encouragement

This past month, we were blessed with the opportunity to share and serve as we visited New Hope Waimea Christian Fellowship.

We’re so thankful for Pastor Sione and his love and support of the ATC Ministry! As our students took the stage, they shared stories of brokenness being transformed by hope through Christ.

Each testimony was a reminder that God's grace is more powerful than addiction, and that healing is possible through faith and community. Thank you, New Hope Waimea ‘Ohana, for welcoming us with warmth and aloha!

Faith in Action:

Building for the Kingdom!

In the spirit of giving back—and following the example of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve—our students recently completed a meaningful project for Hau’oli Kamana’o church.

With hard work and humble hearts, they built two beautifully handcrafted sets of picnic tables, each one a reflection of care, teamwork and purpose. This was more than just a construction project, it was an act of love and dedication to our island ‘ohana.

Just as Christ served others with compassion and purpose, our students experienced the joy of giving back and leaving a lasting blessing in the community.

Voice of Victory:

Grad Returns to Inspire

We were blessed to welcome back one of our Adult & Teen Challenge Alumni, Brett Oshiro, who came to share his powerful and personal story of hope with students. His journey, from bondage to breakthrough, is a living testimony that long-term sobriety and transformation is possible!

Brett's words encouraged the men to keep seeking the Father, stay faithful, stay focused and to never give up. The evening concluded with a powerful time of prayer.

Hoops for Hope a Slam Dunk!

We’re thrilled to share the success of our first annual 3-on-3 Hoops for Hope tournament! The event drew an incredible crowd—over 300 people came out to support the cause, cheer on the teams and stand with us in the fight against addiction!

We had 25 teams register to compete, with players ranging from eight years old to adults, showcasing talent, teamwork, and heart.  Congratulations to team: Hawai’i Select for winning the adult division, and team AVENGERS for winning the 14U division!

Hoops for Hope was more than just a tournament—it was a fun day for our community, a day of connection, and a day of purpose. We’re so incredibly grateful for everyone who participated, volunteered and gave to make this event possible.

We look forward to hosting even more tournaments in the near future as we continue to Put Hope Within Reach Until All Live Free!

Open House: August 1

We warmly invite you to join us for our upcoming Open House, a special opportunity to see firsthand the life-changing work happening here at Adult & Teen Challenge PacWest.

We will be hearing from the heart of a local father and police officer, Rob Segobia, who will courageously share his story of losing two of his children to addiction. His words are a sobering yet inspiring reminder of why this ministry matters—and how the love of Christ continues to bring healing even in the deepest pain.

We hope you’ll come, connect with our students and staff, and be part of this mission to bring hope to hurting hearts across our island.

Friday, August 1 | 5:30PM - 7:00PM

Mahalo and Blessings!

As we reflect on all that God is doing through the lives of the men in our program, we’re filled with gratitude: For His grace, for the power of transformation and for your continued support. Whether through prayer, giving, volunteering or simply sharing our story, we thank you!

Please continue to pray for our students as they walk in faith and sobriety, learning to live with purpose and hope. We truly believe the best is yet to come.

“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
