Alaska Women's Campus

August 2025 Newsletter

Greetings!

Dear Friends and Ministry Partners,

Wow! I cannot believe July has flown by so quickly! We have had a wonderful month of summer celebrations, camping, fishing and enjoying the sun God gave us this summer.

Even through the trials they face, our women are learning what it means to live in a biblical community and the truths of God’s love. It is an honor to witness!

Here are some highlights from this month as well as some upcoming events:

Fourth of July Parade

Both of our women's and men's campuses had the privilege of representing Adult & Teen Challenge in the Fourth of July parade for the City of Wasilla! It was a beautiful day sharing the light and hope of Christ!

A student shared that she had never had such a fun and sober holiday and was so blessed to be a part of this program. Praise God!

Camping Trip

This month, our ladies got to go camping at a local campground! We had an amazing donor bless our ladies with the funds to do something fun.

We rented a canoe and paddle board and hit the lake!

It was a time of bonding with their fellow sisters in Christ/ The joy on their faces says it all! One student said this was the first time she had ever been camping and that she truly came back filled with joy and with a new outlook on life.

This is what it’s all about!

Alaska Spiritual Emphasis

We are eagerly preparing for our Alaska Spiritual Emphasis, happening July 31 - August 2. (Right now as you're reading!)

This special time begins with a Completion Ceremony honoring five students, including two of our ladies, Kieu and Catherine!

Please be in prayer for these ladies as they step into their next season, and for all who will be ministered to during this time of teaching, worship, and deep spiritual impact.

Save The Date!

Mark your calendars!

Our annual Night of Hope Gala is set for Thursday, October 17, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year and an amazing opportunity to hear powerful testimonies, enjoy a great evening and partner with the ongoing work of transformation.

Student Highlight: Jocelyn A.

Hi, my name is Jocelyn and I grew up in Toksook Bay on the west coast of Alaska. I grew up in a Christian home from ages 13 -17. It was convenient for me because that was the time I was starting to realize life, and from there, my love for God has always been, even in my addiction. I prayed and prayed for a Jesus-filled treatment because all the other treatments I went to never worked out. I knew the only way I would stay sober was to keep God in the center of my treatment, my sanity and my life.

I speak two languages, my native (Yup'ik) language and English. I love bonding with my daughter and teaching her new things, especially about God. I love meeting new people and bonding with them one on one. I am very out-going, but am also learning that I need to be still for The Lord and listen. I love to worship, praise and fellowship with other people. I enjoy reading my Bible and learning new things, Bible studies and learning new perspective from other people's perspective.

I love eating native food and prepping them. I love the rain and the “gloomy” days. I'm good at cleaning and organizing, I like being with my family, hiking and looking at scenery and I love learning new things or re-learning.

Please join me in prayer for my marriage, my husband, my brother, my daughter (for she is The King's first) and my staying in treatment.

It's my desire to stay humble before the Lord who loves me!

Thank You!

Thank you again for your faithful support and prayers. We cannot do the work we do without people like you supporting our efforts. We pray God would bless you and keep you and cause His face to shine upon you and give you His peace.
